Tuesday, Florida Tech's men's and women's soccer teams open up play in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament.

The women's soccer team garnered the No. 6 seed in the conference tournament and travels to Miami Shores, Florida for its quarterfinal matchup with No. 3 seed Barry at 7 p.m. ET at the Buccaneer Soccer Field. Florida Tech defeated Barry 3-1 on Sept. 14 in Melbourne.
Keira McCarthy scored twice in the Panther victory. Â Since 2007, the Buccaneers and Panthers have met 12 times. Florida Tech holds the edge, 7-3-2. Barry defeated Florida Tech twice in 2015 including the only SSC tournament matchup between the programs in nine years.

The winner of this matchup will face No. 2 Nova Southeastern on Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. The semifinals and finals on the women's side will be hosted by Saint Leo.

The FIT men's team locked down the No. 3 seed in the SSC Tournament and hosts No. 6 Eckerd in the quarterfinals at 7 p.m. at Rick Stottler Field. Florida Tech defeated Eckerd 3-2 on Sept. 17 during conference play. Six Panthers recorded points in the FIT victory. The two squads met again in a non-conference match on Oct.18.
Adin Kavara scored three times in the Panthers' 5-1 win.

In the last 10 meetings between the programs, Florida Tech holds a 7-1-2 advantage dating back to October 2011. The Tritons last defeated the Panthers on October 5, 2011 (2-1). This year marks the second time in the last three years the programs have met three times in one season.

The winner of this matchup will face No. 2 Lynn on Nov. 4 at 4:30 pm . The semifinal and finals on the men's side will be hosted by Palm Beach Atlantic.
