Coaches Corner
"They went into this meet a little bit beaten up and so we had some expectations coming in, but they blew those out of the water. Daniel was swimming lights out, hopefully qualifying in a few of his events, hit five B cuts and now he has to choose which ones he wants to swim in for NCAAs. Our men are just stepping up all over the place. Just swimming lights out, best times left and right. We had a freshman, Kyle Gibson, who stepped up and he's really close to breaking our 200 breaststroke record and as a freshman in his first big meet, that was a really good sign for our future. Our relays, we had an idea that we could possibly hit some provisional times later on at conference but the fact that we are really close to them here at this meet is a good sign and we think we can get back to having relays on the men's side at NCAA 's as well.
Daniel and Savannah, they're faster than they were at this point in previous years and they qualified with those times before and so the fact that they're where they're at now is a good sign that they'll qualify."
