Panthers, Tars Set to Square off in Wednesday’s SSC Semifinal

MELBOURNE, Fla.- Florida Tech men's lacrosse travels to Winter Park this Wednesday to compete in the Sunshine State Conference semifinal against No. 2-seeded Rollins. The start time for Wednesday's game is set for 8 p.m. at Cahall-Sandspur Field.

The Panthers advanced to the SSC semifinal after taking down Lynn in a 10-9 overtime thriller.

This will be the third meeting this season between Tech (6-8, 4-2 SSC) and the Tars (11-3, 5-2 SSC). Rollins won both matchups with identical scores of 18-10, once in Melbourne on February 3rd and once in Winter Park, on March 30th.

Florida Tech is 3-4 all-time in SSC tournament action and made the championship game twice, falling both times to Tampa by a score of 11-8 in 2015 and 12-8 in 2017.

No. 1 Tampa will host No. 4 seeded Florida Southern in the other semifinal game on Wednesday in Tampa, Fla.

No. 1 Tampa earned a bye to the semifinals after finishing the 2024 regular season undefeated in SSC play. No. 4 Florida Southern advanced to the semifinals after defeating #5 Saint Leo 20-15 in the first round.

Following Thursday's semifinals, the winners will advance to the SSC tournament championship set for Saturday, April 27, at the highest remaining seed.
