DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Panther men's cross country team was back on the race course on Saturday morning at the Embry-Riddle Cross Country Classic, held on the school's campus.
Florida Tech improved their average time from their season-opening meet at Southeastern by three seconds down to 28:01, finishing in third place out of 12 schools. Ben Peck was the first Panther across the finish line, with his time of 27:06.70, good for 14th place out of 143 runners. Niels Buitenhuis also posted a second consecutive 27-minute time (27:49.10), earning 22nd place in the process. Also earning top 50 finishes for the Crimson and Gray were Tyler Herrera (28:03.50, 25th place), Jake Greene (28:12.80, 27th place), Dominic Longobardi (28:49.60, 39th), Lachlan McCure (28:56.40, 40th), Alex Larrivee (29:16.50, 48th) and Jack Schule (29:20.00, 49th place).
