INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Efe Ongoren brought Florida Tech swimming's 2024-25 season to a close on Saturday morning at the fifth and final day of the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships at the IU Natatorium.
The Sakarya, Turkey native competed in the 1650 Free with Ongoren posting a time of 16:04.86, good for 22nd overall.
Efe is the first Panther men's swimmer to ever compete in the 1650 Free at the National Championships.
Coaches Corner:
"I'm super proud of Efe," said Head Coach Tony Marleneanu. "Not only for his performance at NCAAs, but throughout the season. Taking into consideration that he is a freshman, his season was amazing. I am happy that all the hard work that he put into this season paid off big time in the 500 Free."
