Melbourne, Fla.- Florida Tech redshirt freshman Chloe Fariello has been named the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Pitcher of the Week following a standout performance that propelled the Panthers to a series-clinching win over No. 3-ranked Tampa.
 
The Lake Worth, Florida, native delivered a masterclass in the circle on Friday, tossing a complete-game shutout in Tech's 1-0 victory over the Spartans. Fariello allowed just four hits while facing 26 batters and recorded a career-high four strikeouts. The win marks the highest-ranked opponent she has defeated in her young collegiate career.
 
Florida Tech's series win over Tampa is its first since 2016, and the first on the road since 2015. The crucial victory improves the Panthers' overall record to 29-19 on the season.
 
This marks Fariello's first career SSC Pitcher of the Week honor and the second such award for Florida Tech Softball this year.
 
The Crimson and Gray will close out the regular season at home this weekend with a three-game series against Barry. Game 1 is set for Friday, April 25 at 7:00 PM, followed by a Saturday doubleheader on April 26, with first pitches scheduled for 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM, respectively.
