Men’s Lacrosse Places Four on All-SSC Teams

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Florida Tech men's lacrosse program was well represented in this year's Sunshine State Conference (SSC) awards, with four student-athletes earning All-Conference recognition. The announcement, made Tuesday afternoon, highlighted two Panthers on the Second Team and two on the Third Team.

Seniors Jakob Terpak and Gavin Wessel secured spots on the All-SSC Second Team, while juniors Steve Ulrichs and Garrett Gmeiner were recognized on the All-SSC Third Team.

Terpak, a midfielder from York, Pennsylvania, capped off an impressive collegiate career by earning his second All-Conference honor. After being named to the All-SSC Freshman Team in 2022, Terpak emerged as the Panthers' offensive leader this season. He led the team in points, finishing with 30 on 14 goals and 16 assists, and also contributed 13 ground balls. Terpak concludes his career tied for fourth on the program's all-time assist list with 43.

Wessel, recognized for the second straight year, solidified his reputation as one of the SSC's premier short-stick defensive midfielders. Wessel appeared in all 16 games, starting 14, and recorded 33 ground balls and five caused turnovers. Known for his speed and awareness in transition, he also added offensive contributions with five points, including four goals and one assist.

Ulrichs, a redshirt junior defender from Richmond, Virginia, was a cornerstone of the Panthers' defense this season. Leading the team with 21 caused turnovers and 34 ground balls, Ulrichs also tallied three points on two assists and one goal. He earned national recognition in February with a selection to the USILA Division II Team of the Week, following a dominant performance against North Greenville, where he posted a game-high five caused turnovers and seven ground balls in the 14–9 win.

Gmeiner, making his first appearance on the All-SSC team, delivered a breakout season as a junior. After seeing limited action in the previous year, Gmeiner stepped up in a big way, starting all 14 games he appeared in. The reliable defenseman forced 12 turnovers and collected 22 ground balls over the season. He also recorded a career-high three caused turnovers in the SSC quarterfinal matchup at Rollins.
