DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Florida Tech men's cross-country team finished in second place of 11 teams at the Embry-Riddle Invite 8K on Saturday morning. Freshman Noah Heal and Sophomore Ben Peck had Top-10 finishes for the second consecutive weekend.

Overall, Tech had four runners finish in the Top 20, six in the Top 30 and nine in the Top 40. Their team point total of 61 was good for second place, 25 points ahead of third place Daytona State College and 55 points ahead of Division I Bethune-Cookman in fourth. Noah Heal once again led the way for the Panthers with his time of 26:59.20 good for sixth place out of 96 participants. Ben Peck was the next Crimson and Gray runner across the finish line, taking ninth place with a time of 27:25.80.

Tyler Herrera (28:01.10) and Thomas Carpenter (28:02.30) took 14th and 15th place respectively. Rhett Turner was the fifth Tech runner to finish for the second straight Saturday, reaching the line at 28:40.60.

In total, 11 Panthers completed the 8K in 30 minutes or less with Dominic Longobardi doing so in exactly a half hour.
