MELBOURNE, Fla. - Lauryn Wood from the Florida Tech women's soccer team has been named the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Offensive Player of the Week for her performances over the Panthers' last two matches.
This is Wood's first time winning the award of the season, and the second time winning it in her career.
On Sept. 17, the Panthers shutout Palm Beach Atlantic, 2-0. Wood recorded Tech's first goal in the game. The Preston, England native continued to succeed with a goal in Tech's 1-1 draw against RV Nova Southeastern on Sept. 20.
Over the two matches, Wood totaled 159 minutes, and two goals. Wood is currently tied in conference in goals (4).
Wood and the rest of the Panthers are back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at RV Rollins at 7pm and will finish their four-game road trip on Saturday, Sept. 27 at No. 8 Embry-Riddle at 7pm.
