ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida Tech men's outdoor track had a quick turnaround, as they returned to the UCF Soccer and Track Complex on Saturday afternoon for Day Two of the UCF Knights Invite, competing against several Division I programs.
The 800 meter run saw Tom Evans earn a 20th place finish thanks to his time of 1:56.71 for his first action of his Panthers' career. Jason Hargesheimer (1:57.22) took 27th, Filippo Bessi (1:57.86) tied for 30th, Tommy Wodazak Jr. (2:00.52) grabbed 38th and Tyler Herrera (2:04.10) placed 43rd.
Mikey Roberts was the top Tech finisher in the 400 meter dash as his personal best time of 48.92 earned the freshman 17th place, ahead of several Division I runners. Shawn Immanuel's time of 53.96 was good for 37th place.
Ese Oguma's time of 10.71 earned him 18th place in the 100 meter dash. Oguma broke his best times as a Panther in the 200-meter Friday and the 100-meter on Saturday, Freshman Gavin MacCoy's 10.96 was good for 33rd, while fellow freshman Austin Clate earned 39th with a 11.10 finish.
Tech's best event of the day was in the 1500 Meter Run as Jake Greene (4:16.87) and Brycen Haner (4:17.19) earned eighth and 10th place, respectively, for their best performances in the event so far this season. Hargesheimer's time of 4:28.18 earned him 20th.
