Orlando, Fla. – Cordelia Kearns has been named the Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week. This is the second POTW honor for Kearns this year and the third of her Panther career.
In a 2-1, Kearns totaled 54 kills for an average of 5.40 kills per set with three double-doubles. She began her week by posting 19 kills against Rollins, leading Tech to a sweep over the Tars. In that same match, she also logged two service aces and a block. Kearns followed that up with a 16-kill performance in a win against Florida Southern while also recording 19 digs, a block and a service ace. In the last match of the week against the number one team in the nation, Kearns went for 19 kills with a .326 hitting percentage. Despite falling to Tampa, Kearns led the match in those categories while adding 13 digs and an assist.
Her elite play has been consistent all year long, leading the SSC in kills with 336 and kills per set with 4.87. Her kills per set average is also good for third-best in Division II and is top 15 in the entire nation across all three divisions.
