Panthers Conclude Fall Frenzy With Three School Records and Nine B-Cut Times

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Florida Tech men's and women's wrapped up their weekend of competition with Day Four of the Queens Fall Frenzy on Sunday, Nov. 23. 
 
At the conclusion of 36 events, the Crimson and Gray men finished in fifth place with 677 points, while the Panther finished 10th with 290.5 points. The combined team score of 967.5 points gave Tech an eighth-place finish.   
 
It was a successful day for the women's team as Melissa Zucco placed fifth in the women's 200 Back A Final with an NCAA B-Cut time of 2:01.41 that broke her previous school record of 2:03.74, which she set 364 days ago at the 2024 Fall Frenzy. 
 
Then, Abby Briggs set a new school record in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:05.26. The previous record of 2:06.11 had been set by Kennedy Nolan at the 2020 SSC Championships. 
 
Miranda Olhasso also earned an NCAA B-Cut time in the 100 Free with a finish of 51.72 seconds. 
 
On the men's side, Lucas Mitchelmore posted his second NCAA B-Cut time of the weekend, posting a 44.16 in the 100 Free B Final, which was good for third place. Efe Ongoren (44.66) and Antoni Fronczak (44.95) earned 7th and 8th with B-Cut times. Andy Pleiman also reached B-Cut qualification thanks to his finish of 45.19. 
 
Akos Hajagos earned third place in the 200 Fly A Final with his B-Cut time of 1:47.67. Dan Kunin took home sixth with a B-Cut time of 1:48.07. 
 
In relay action, the men's 400 Free group of Mitchelmore, Fronczak, Ongoren and Pleiman combined for a new school record in the event of 2:56.04 that was good for fourth place and a B-Cut qualification. The previous record of 2:56.43 had stood since the 2018 SSC Championships and was set by Emanuele Rossi, Filip Dujmic, Thomas Steenberg and Victor Rocha Furtado.   
 
 
UP NEXT
Panther swimming will now break for the holiday and exams before returning for their final competition of 2025 with a sprint invite against Tampa on Thursday, Dec. 18 at the Panther Aquatic Center. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 P.M.
