OCALA, Fla. – The Florida Tech men's and women's swimming teams were active in competition at day three of the 2026 Sunshine State Conference Championships on Friday, Feb. 13.
In day three, SSC teams competed in the 1000 Free, the 200 IM, the 50 Free and the 200 Medley Relay.
Akos Hajagos had the best Crimson and Gray finish of the evening, earning second place in the Men's 400 IM Final with a time of 3:51.71, which was only .49s off the top spot.
Efe Ongoren grabbed fifth in the Men's 200 Free Final with his 1:37.46 finish.
Antoni Fronczak finished second in the B Final with a time of 1:37.37, only .05s shy of first.
In the Women's 100 Fly Final,
Abby Briggs finished eighth with a time of 56.25.
Miranda Olhasso's 57.87 time in the B Final placed her eighth as well.
Dan Kunin took seventh in the Men's 100 Fly Final thanks to his finish of 47.82.
Matteo Caruso was eighth in the B Final, reaching the wall at 49.36.
In the Women's 400 Medley relay, the team of
Melissa Zucco,
Corinne Roberts, Briggs and Olhasso took home fifth place with a time of 3:49.01. The quartet of
Sonia Peters,
Kayleigh Jollands,
Torie Whitbeck and
Isabella Sarvis finished sixth in the B Final thanks to their time of 3:54.85.
The Men's 400 Medley relay saw the group of Hajagos,
DK Nakashima, Kunin and
Andy Pleiman take sixth place with a 3:15.98 finish. The squad of
Zachary Reese,
Matthew Heaphy, Caruso and
Lucas Mitchelmore earned fourth in the B Final with a 3:18.00 finish.
Entering Saturday's competition, the men are in fifth place with a team score of 208 points while the women stand in sixth place with 119 points.

Tech is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 14 as the Panthers compete in day four of the SSC Championships. Prelim races are scheduled to begin at 10 A.M. and the finals slated to start at 6 P.M.
