Seven Panthers Selected to the 2026 Division II National Championships

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Florida Tech men's swimming team will send seven Panthers to the 2026 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships in Evansville, Indiana as announced by the NCAA on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
 
INDIVIDUALS
Akos Hajagos, a junior from Budapest, Hungary, returns to the NCAA National Championships after representing Florida Tech in 2024. Hajagos will compete in the 100 Fly, 200 Fly, 200 IM and 200 Back. At the 2026 SSC Championships, Hajagos notched a time of 1:47.20 in the 200 IM for a third-place finish. Additionally, the set a school record time of 1:47.54 in the 200 IM this season. He earned All-American status in the 200 Fly and honorable mention in the 400 IM in 2024.
 
Efe Ongoren, a sophomore from Sakarya, Turkey, will return to the national stage as he was the lone Panther to represent Tech at the 2025 National Championships. Ongoren will compete in the 100 Free, 200 Free and 500 Free. At the conference championships, he placed fifth in the 200 free with a time of 1:37.46 and ninth in the 500 free with a time of 4:28.06. Last season, Ongoren become the seventh individual to All-American for the Panthers.
 
Dan Kunin, a junior from Kiryat Bialik, Israel, is listed as an alternate for the 100 Fly and 200 Fly. At the Sunshine State Conference Championships, Kunin notched a seventh-place finish in the 100 fly with a time of 47.82 and a sixth-place finish in the 200 fly with a time of 1:47.79. This is Kunin's first trip to the Division II National Championships.
 
RELAYS
The Panthers have qualified for three relays which include the 200 Free Relay, the 400 Free Relay and the 800 Free Relay.
 
The tandem will include Andy Pleiman, Lucas Mitchelmore, Dylan Ostolaza and Emiel van Oord. The four combined for a school record time of 1:19.40 at the SSC Championships which earned them a third-place finish for the event. 
 
The Panthers will return to the pool on Tuesday, Mar. 10 for day one of the 2026 NCAA National Championships which will take place in the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Indiana.
