Hall of Fame
Florida Tech's 1992 Baseball Team, a force to be reckoned with, was inducted into the Florida Tech Sports Hall of Fame on Feb. 1, 2013. The team's stellar performance included claiming the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Region Baseball Championship and making it to the Final Eight. This triumph marked the program's first-ever South Atlantic Region Championship. The Panthers ended the season with a 28-22 overall record.
Florida Tech, ranked 22nd in the nation and third in the South Atlantic Region, began regionals by upsetting the fifth-ranked team in the country, South Carolina-Aiken, 6-4. The following game, Florida Tech had to rally against the second-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State, trailing 5-1 in the fourth inning. Phil Campbell smacked a two-run double, and Mark Venditti hit an RBI ground out to tie the game. Venditti delivered again in the sixth inning with a two-run single to break the tie, leading to the 7-5 victory. The Panthers saw South Carolina-Aiken one more time in the region championship.
