Robin Chan, a member of the men's soccer program from 1987-1990, was inducted into the Florida Tech Sports Hall of Fame in 2003. Chan helped the Panthers soccer team to two Final Four trips and an NCAA Division II National Championship in 1988. He is fifth in career assists (40), eighth in career goals (19), and eighth in career points (78). Chan began coaching less than a decade after his collegiate career, starting at high school and then making his way to coaching his former team, Florida Tech, in 2005.
Chan was an offensive force in his final season at Florida Tech, recording the sixth-most goals in a season with 18 of his 19 career goals. He also facilitated the high-flying offense, tying the seventh-most assists in a season with 14 for a total of 50 points, which is also tied for the seventh-most in a single year. Chan led the charge to the NCAA Final Four. Individually, Chan garnered All-SSC, All-State, All-South Region, and All-America First Team recognition.
In 1989, Chan guided Florida Tech to an SSC Regular-Season Title and its third straight and third overall NCAA Tournament appearance. He also earned his second All-SSC and All-State First Team honors.
Chan's sophomore season, he led the program to an SSC Regular Season Title and its first-ever NCAA Men's Soccer Division II National Championship title. He received All-SSC First Team on the way to the big game.
In his freshmen season, Chan earned an All-SSC Honorable Mention, and his team awarded him Team MVP.
Following his collegiate career, Chan coached Melbourne Central Catholic High School to the Boy's Soccer State Championships in 1998 and 2003. In that 2003 season, Studentsports.com ranked MCC No. 1 nationally. In 2005, Florida Tech hired Chan as the program's eighth head coach.
