Hall of Fame
Khalid Outaleb was inducted into the Florida Tech Sports Hall of Fame on Feb. 1, 2013. He entered the Sports Hall of Fame as the first men's tennis player. In his four seasons from 1983-86, Outaleb registered a 76-12 at No. 1 singles. He advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament at Florida Tech for all four seasons. Outaleb also played on the Moroccan Davis Cup Team from 1984-1990, accumulating a 14-3 overall record, 9-2 in singles, 5-1 in doubles, and had seven ties. He was the top-ranked player in the country from 1984 to 1988 and won Morocco's National Championship in singles in 1984 and 1988. He was also a 2003 SSC Men's Tennis Silver Anniversary Team member.
After his Florida Tech career, he was ranked No. 240 in the Association of Tennis Professional World ranking in 1988.
During his junior season, he was ranked as high as No. 10 in singles, according to the ITCA Division II Rankings. He received his third and final ITCA All-American honor. In his final season in 1986, Outaleb made an ALL-SSC team.
In 1985, he won 21 straight matches and went undefeated during the regular season. Then, he won his second SSC Singles Championship and was runner-up in doubles. He was among the top-20 singles in the 1985 ITCA Division II Rankings. He grabbed his second ITCAA All-American in singles.
Outaleb started strong, earning an All-American in singles in his first season in 1983. He was ranked No. 35 in singles in the 1984 ITCA Division II Preseason Ranking. Outaleb went on to win his first Sunshine State Conference Singles Championship in 1984. He earned All-American status by the Intercollegiate Tennis Coaches Association for the first time.
