Hall of Fame
John Narciso, a dedicated member of the baseball team from 1979-82, was honored with his induction into the esteemed Florida Tech Sports Hall of Fame in 1991. This recognition is a testament to his exceptional career and his significant contributions to the sport. Narciso's unwavering dedication is evident in his Panther career program record for complete games with 26. He is also second in program history in career ERA (2.98), career shutouts (6), and tied third in career wins (22). He has a career record of 22-11 in four seasons. Narciso's achievements also extend beyond the field, as he earned the Faculty Scholarship Award.
Narciso received Outstanding Pitcher recognition in 1982 after starting 12 of his 18 appearances and compiling five wins, a 3.48 ERA, and 58 strikeouts. However, it was the 1981 season that was his best. He recorded the most wins in a season by a Panther with a 9-5 record and also tallied the second-most innings pitched with 128.1, the most at the time. He also pitched to a 2.80 ERA, 3 shutouts, and 52 strikeouts in 17 starts and 19 appearances. Narciso grabbed another Outstanding Pitcher award while helping the Panthers go 30-18-1, which was the program's most wins in a singles season.
In 1980, Narciso broke the program record for ERA with a 1.85 in 9 starts and 69 innings pitched. In his 12 total appearances, he tallied six complete games, three shutouts, and 31 strikeouts. The Panthers went 28-14-1 overall, and Narciso earned his first Outstanding Pitcher award.
