Hall of Fame
Andy Seminick, the first head baseball coach from 1961-1977, was inducted into the esteemed Florida Tech Sports Hall of Fame in 1987. As a coach, Seminick compiled 276 wins in 17 seasons. He coached the team to six 20-win and winning seasons, including his final two in 1976 and 1977.
Before becoming the head coach at Florida Tech, Seminick played for the Phillies and Reds from 1943-58; He recorded career numbers of 953 hits, 556 RBI, 582 walks, 164 home runs, and a 0.243 batting average in 1,304 games. Seminick made the 1949 All-Star team after hitting 0.242, 69 RBI, and a career-high 24 home runs. The very next year, he helped the Phillies become the 1950 National League Champions, tallying a career-high 0.288 batting average and a second straight season with 24 home runs.
Seminick was a charter member of the Florida Tech Athletic Advisory Council.
