Thomas Bohrer, a member of the men's rowing team for three seasons, was inducted into the Florida Tech Sports Hall of Fame in 1992. A two-time Olympic medalist and a three-time medalist at the World Championships, Bohrer competed for the United States Rowing Team from 1986 to 1994, earning silver medals in the men's coxless fours at two consecutive Olympic Summer Games (Seoul in 1988 and Barcelona in 1992). He was named US Rowing Athlete of the Year in 1989 and served as the Olympic Team Captain in 1992. Bohrer is a three-time medalist at the World Championships, including two silver medals in Men's Four in 1989 and 1991. He also took fifth place at the World Championships in the Men's Eight in 1990.

Bohrer helped the Panthers to a National Championship in 1984 and was voted Florida Tech's Outstanding Oarsman two consecutive years, in 1985 and 1986.
