Paulette King, a member of the women's basketball team from 1991-93, was inducted into the Florida Tech Sports Hall of Fame in 1999. Paulette King was one of the most dominant players in NCAA, SSC, and Florida Tech history in her two seasons. King scored 1,667 points, which is eighth overall in SSC history in 59 career games for a whopping NCAA Division II record 28.3 points per game, which still stands today. She led the SSC in scoring as a junior (29.5) and a senior (27.1), the two highest averages in league history. King holds the program record for career field goal percentage (.550) and field goal percentage (.555). She is also top-10 in field goals made (4th) and free throws made (5th).

In her finals season at Florida Tech, King recorded the second-most points in program history with 812, only behind herself. She averaged 27.1 points per game and made 310 field goals, none of which were from beyond the arc. She hit field goals at a 54 percent clip, which marked the third highest in program history. King stepped to the free throw line 226 times and drained 193 of them for an 85.3 percent mark. The made and attempted free throws are the second most behind only herself, and the free throw percentage was also second behind Dunja Pacirski in 1997-98. On the glass, she grabbed the fourth-highest in a season with 280, hauling in 9.33 per game. King led the Panthers to the program's second straight SSC Regular and Tournament Title with a 26-4 record. King received her second SSC Player of the Year and All-SSC First Team selection. King also led her team to their second straight NCAA Tournament as they made it to the Sweet 16, winning the program's first tournament game over Florida Atlantic. She earned her second WBCA All-American and DII Bulletin First Team honors.

King immediately showed her offensive prowess on the Florida Tech campus, leading the program to new heights. She broke the program records for total points, points per game, field goals made, field goals attempted, and field goal percentage in a single season, going 322-for-575, a program record of 56 percent from the field for 855 points. The point total was helped by another program record of 49 points at Saint Leo on February 8, 1992, on a program-high 19 field goals made. King scored above 40 five times. She also broke the program records for free throws made and attempted, making 209 of her 256 attempts. King hauled in the second-most rebounds in a season by a Panther with 305, averaging 10.5 a game. The Panthers went 25-4 as a team, winning the program's first SSC Regular Season and Tournament Championships. She made the SSC All-Tournament Team and won SSC Player of the Year. She also made the All-SSC First Team after winning SSC Player of the Week four times. Florida Tech made its first NCAA Tournament, and King earned WBCA and DII Bulletin All-American First Team.
