Rob Terry, a member of the men's basketball team from 1993-1997, was inducted into the Florida Tech Sports Hall of Fame in 2003. Terry's records are not just impressive; they are unparalleled. He is the program's all-time leader in career rebounds (880), blocks (170), and field goal percentage (.608). He is also in the top 10 in career points with 1,627, averaging 16.9 points per game. He is the only Panther with over 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 100 steals, and 100 blocks in a career. Terry's dominance was further recognized as he is a member of the 2000-01 SSC Silver Anniversary Team.
During his final season as a Panther, Terry recorded the ninth-most points in a season with 576 on 185 made field goals. He also tallied the most free throws made in a season by a Panther and second-most by any SSC player with 204 on a 77.3 percent clip and the most rebounds with 337. In a single game, Terry grabbed the second-highest number of rebounds, bringing down 23 against Slippery Rock on January 29, 1997. Terry's performances were recognized in January and February as he earned SSC Player of the Month twice. He later received the SSC Player of the Year and a unanimous All-SSC First Team honor. Terry was also awarded All-South District First Team and All-America Honorable Mention.
In his junior season of 1995-96, Terry compiled 241 points on 67.7 percent shooting, 110 rebounds, 43 assists, 22 steals and 28 blocks. He had two top-10 program rebounding games, hauling in 19 at Missouri Western in November and 18 at Lynn in December. Terry had an All-SSC Second Team type season as a sophomore. He was second on the team in points with 390, only behind the excellent Peter Walcott. Terry also had 204 rebounds, 63 assists, 26 steals and 51 blocks.
Terry was a standout freshman, scoring 420 points in his first season. His scoring output was helped tremendously by a 37-point performance against Slippery Rock on January 8, 1994, with 16 made field goals. The 37 points are the second most in a single game by a Panther. Terry was named to the SSC All-Freshman and earned All-SSC Honorable Mention honors. He was also awarded SSC Freshman of the Year.
